Quick 4x6 Picture Collage: Don't wait to enjoy your photos!!

We used to have to print pictures in order to see them so then we would put them in albums and frames. But now with digital pictures, it seems like more pictures are taken, but less end up being displayed. And then we wait and plan and never get around to it. Well here's an easy and cheap way to get your pictures up and it looks super cool, so just do it!!

I have been busy planning my granddaughter's 1st birthday, and made this giant number 1 picture collage to celebrate her first year. So yes, this project did take a little time to cut out the number 1 and cut the pictures to fit, but such a fun way to document baby's first year.

But for something quick and easy, just take a big piece of cardboard or even poster board and glue 4x6 prints to it and hang it on the wall and Voila!! Quick and cheap way to get pictures off your phone and onto the wall where everyone can enjoy them!

You can always just put them right on the wall too and add to it as you go. I am starting to do this and will post a picture soon! I have been using Gorilla Mounting Putty and it doesn't damage the walls. Here's a picture of somebody's growing photo wall.

And then for those of you who want something a little more contained and finished looking, you can always frame the poster board/cardboard. In fact you can often get cheap frames at thrift shops so you can still do it pretty cheap that way.

I have some more ideas for hanging pictures on my pinterest page: https://www.pinterest.com/looseendsorganizing/memorabilia/

A couple notes: I use 4x6 prints because they are the cheapest to get printed. I have used Shutterfly the past couple times, but I am not always happy with the prints and they crop them more than I want/specify when I am adding them to my cart. I have heard good things about Mpix and Nations Photo Lab and am going to try those next and will update this post. If you have other suggestions, please leave details in the comments!

For the cardboard 1, I doubled it up cutting out two 1's from the cardboard and glueing them together to make it nice and sturdy as it will be displayed at her party. And we attached the photos with elmer's glue sticks. It was really quite easy...making number 2 next year will be a lot more challenging!!
