I was so inspired by one of my clients recently! She had these framed displays of old memorabilia: one of her old dance costume along with pictures and another of a childhood swimsuit and old photos.
Here's a couple pictures of similar ideas I found on the web:
What a great way to declutter drawers filled with old pictures and boxes of sentimental stuff that you don't want to get rid of, but you also don't know what to do with it!
And you could do this with travel mementos, weddings, new baby, graduation, awards or even with collections of items like ticket stubs, bottle caps, watches, matchbox cars, keychains, coins etc.
You can take your stuff to a local frame shop or do it yourself with a shadowbox. When it comes to old pictures, why not just make a whole wall of them! It looks so cool and would be much better than the pictures taking up room in a closet or just being useless in a box in the attic. And it's fun to combine with vintage furniture and other old items that you have, kind of making a whole themed area of a room.
You can find so many great ideas for other ways to display items; Pinterest is a great place to start! I'm going to make a Pinterest page with these pictures and more ideas for this and will update my blog once I do.
So go gather up your memorabilia and get started...Make it a fun weekend project!! You'll be having fun, being creative and decluttering all at the same time ♥
