We all get so excited to pull out the Christmas stuff and decorate the tree with the holiday music going and put out the snow globes and angels and nativity sets and dishes, etc. But by the time Christmas is over and the New Year is here, it seems like such a dreaded task to put everything away and back up in the attic!
I helped one of my clients wrap presents this year and then break down Christmas and I was thinking perhaps you could make the packing up more fun with the right supplies instead of all the random boxes and bins that most of us have that make it so cumbersome. So I did some research and wanted to share some ideas that might help!
I love this solution for containing the wrapping, bags and ribbon all together in one box. And I like this soft box and that it has a slim design that can fit under the bed or on a closet shelf. And if you do a lot of gifting throughout the year, you could have one for Christmas and another one for the other occasions...there are several colors of this particular one, but all different kinds are available.
There are all kinds of storage solutions for ornaments, but I really like this soft, flexible bag style container. It has adjustable dividers to fit a variety of ornaments since we don't all only have ball ornaments like the picture shows.
I finally got smart and started tying my strings of lights individually, but I spent many hours some years untangling light strands before learning my lesson and have done so for many of my customers and it is such an unnecessary waste of time! Of course you can just wrap them up and tie them or put them in separate bags, but I do love this solution and to me it's worth it since I will probably be putting up a Christmas tree the rest of my life!
And for those of you who put up several wreaths, this is a great solution instead of the big black trash bags! And these can be used for garland, pillows, linens and any other soft items instead of boxes or bins.
Hopefully this helps if you are struggling with the Christmas break down this year, or maybe it'll give you some ideas for next Christmas. There are also many other specialty solutions out there for tree storage and figurine storage and pretty much anything you can think of!
If you would like a helping hand with Christmas this year, give me a call and I can come help with the decorating, wrapping, break down, organizing and the storage and anything else in between!
